Kelis
“I’m bossy. I’m the bitch y’all love to hate. I’m the chick that’s raised the stake.” You don’t have to love her. You don’t even have to like her. But Kelis once said that you will respect her. And why not?
Since Kelis has been in the game, she has always been an artist willing to step outside the box, even when it wasn’t that popular to do so; even when people were calling her weird. Her style has always been on the cutting edge and there’s little doubt that she has had some influence on some of today’s mainstream artist.
The chick that raises the stake is expected to release her latest album “Flesh Tone” on July 6, but it’s unsure to me how fans will receive Kelis latest musical efforts. “Flesh Tone” is indeed a departure from everything we have come to known regarding Kelis as a music artist. But I guess she wouldn’t be Kelis if she lacked the effort to grow musically. One thing that I do know for sure, regardless of what people may say, Kelis will continue to “do her.”
Check out Kelis new video for her second single, “4th of July (Fireworks).”
